What is econic clay for
Wall Coverings and Floors?
Natural raw materials such as natural soil, quartz, fine ore, cinerite, and fly ash are used as raw materials. They are classified into four groups by different colours. By grinding the four groups of materials respectively and combining the materials of same color with an active agent, the materials are tranformed to a powder with a high activity: econic clay.
Nature and design are the two most important terms in the cardamia vocabulary. econic clay combines ecological and economic advantages with iconic design. Its material properties will make it the number one sustainable building material in interior design.
cardamia is flexible, bendable, and can be rolled up to a 60-degree angle, with a maximum depth of 6 mm for each slab. Also, you can easily handle it to create astonishing and organic interiors without destroying the material.
cardamia panels can be produced in various sizes from 500×500 mm or 600×300 mm up to 2700×1200 mm depending on your needs. This gives you ultimate design freedom.
cardamia is extremely light. A squaremeter is about 4-5 kg. Therefore, transportation and handling are extremely easy.
Depth can be chosen freely up to the maximum depth of 6 mm. At high depth, patterns can be integrated in the material to model inspiring 3D structures.
cardamia – econic clay combines ecological and economic advantages with iconic design. It is a natural material that opens new perspectives for urban living through properties unique among interior design materials.
100% sustainable and 100% smart production: In modified clay technology, a mix of natural raw materials such as soil, sand, stone powder, and ash undergo a spray-mixing process converting them into modified inorganic materials encapsulated with active surface coating. The resulting modified material is cardamia – econic clay. It can be formed in the same way as plastic into any shape and profile, such as thin sheets, boards, or blocks, through manipulation of heating curves and photochemical isomerism technique.
cardamia – econic clay allows for interior design with a carbon footprint which is reduced by 80%, compared to traditional decorative materials. It can be recycled and reused infinitely. It opens a whole new world of application possibilities: substituting concrete to build roads; replacing plastic, resin, cement, and wood to produce flatted board, customized shapes, rolls or even art display. Phomi, as the inventor of cardamia, welcomes talents from all sectors to provide application and design ideas for econic clay – for mutual benefits and to save the environment.
